New Texas Lunch in Chambersburg

Friendly staff, food was inexpensive for what it was. Not to loud/booth seemed fairly private. Considering we didn't have much money we were able to get dinner for a great price.

NOT GOING BACK. The service was quick, too quick. We didn't even have a chance to start on our appetizer before supper came. The portions are large but the food itself?BLAND & UNDERCOOKED.The country fried steak was meh and the mashed potatoes were tasteless. Brown gravy was only a notable because it was brown.The neighborhood around the restaurant was literally trashy. Bag of trash strewn everywhere and general litter all over the place.My husband was worried about food poisoning.... I didn't really feel well the rest of the night 😣

Excellent food. Homestyle cooking at a reasonable price. Friendly staff makes the place feel warm and relaxed. The entire place just takes you back in time and makes you feel like you're sitting in your old hometown. Wonderful service, food and price. Overall, I will be returning as often as I can.

I liked the atmosphere, I liked that there is lots of free parking, the food tasted really good, but the service was slow and our food was on the cool side. We are going to try this place another time to see if on a slow day maybe it will be better. Tried the place for lunch this time, it wasn't crowded but service was still slow and the food was meh.

My husband and I love Texas Lunch. He always gets the Texas style burgers. We live in Bedford county and make a special trip because all of the food is always excellent and the staff is extremely friendly!

Came here for lunch and got the Reuben. It did not disappoint. Lots of meat, toasted perfectly and fries were crisp and not overly salty or greasy. For six dollars and some change it doesn't get much better. Food came out fast and service was friendly. I also loved all of the black and white photos of Chambersburg and the old diner! Super cool

4.5 stars. (C'mon Google. Why can't I give half stars?) Of all the local diners, I like the Tracks the best. Good standard diner breakfast with an authentic atmosphere that I like when I go to places like these for breakfast. Prices are very fair, as well.

Love it they have the best food and service very friendly and my mom and me and my family went here alot and it brings back some good memories because some of my family and plus my mother passed away and it just brings back memories good ones when I come here to eat.

Pos place. Tried charging my teen daughter a to go fee.... messed up her order . She texted me, so I called and ask they said they don't charge, but yet my kid was charged. A 16 yr old daughter treating her kid sister out to meal, she worked so hard for! We sat outside and waited extremely disgusted! The food wasn't worth it either it was around 5pm July 20th Monday. Terrible. Disgusting. Absolutely unfair.

The food doesn't taste good at all. The burger tasted like a cheap frozen patty and was highly overseasoned. The fries were bland. The server was nice, but not very efficient. I had an empty glass for 15mins before she offered a refill and there weren't alot of people in the restaurant at all.

This place is a hometown staple! The servers are always friendly, the food comes out so quickly and the portions are substantial. I can't say enough good about this place! Food was delicious and prices are reasonable. It's definitely worth a visit if you're in the area.

The Historic Texas Lunch restaurant isn’t that really great of food. I’ve had a few things and have gone here from time to time over the years. Was and still not the best but on the same line isn’t the worst either. Very clean and very friendly staff. Almost on the wrong part of town to where some suspicious activity occurs around the town run. My father has liked this place for years but is starting to become disappointed with the food himself.

It was good for a diner. The omelette I had was a little dry but enjoyable

We went there this morning and the food was done really fast. The food was great and the waiters and waitresses are nice!!

Service was horrible and after asking what is a least greasy breakfast side dish she advised scrapple and it swam in grease after using several napkins to absorb the grease it was still inedible. When paying bill I was asked how everything was I advised I could not eat the $4 scrapple and she said well that's why people buy scrapple is forntge grease. Both women were incredibly short and rude and would be the reason my family and I wouldn't return.

This restaurant has good food and its inexpensive. Good family atmosphere. The selection on the menu is lacking items. I recommend this restaurant to those of you looking for typical diner food to eat!

Its the diner experience. They have the best homefries in the county. And they have a train set of a mini Chambersburg. You should totally go at least once, especially if you like history. (For history nerds they also have old black and white picture printed on the flat Wall lights at the top)

Wasn't sure what to expect here whether it was a restaurant or Diner well whatever you call it it was inviting it was good food very reasonable prices and fun to eat there and then you can walk to the circle downtown Chambersburg browse the shops I'm just making an outing and don't forget to have your ice cream across the street even though it's the same owners and it's you can get the kitty cop which is planning for only dollar fifty

Your experience depends purely on what you order. The service is very slow, so don't order any drinks you can't refill. The food tends to match the price but meat can be a bit under seasoned. It's also a tad bit dirty.

Great down home food at a reasonable price in a early eighties style restaurant. Great experience 👍👍 two thumbs up
